Imagine music as a conversation. A conversation in which eras are not separated by centuries, but listen and respond to each other. A conversation in which baroque clarity, romantic confession, and the dramatic depth of the 20th century come together in a single artistic space. This is how the program becomes a dialogue
🌙 Dialogues Across the Centuries 🌙
— chamber concert for cello and piano
📅 March 1, 2026, 5:00 PM
📍 Riga, Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation (Palasta iela 4)
✅ Kirill Varjash — cello
✅ Olga Andryushchenko — piano
On this evening, the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, Robert Schumann, Alfred Schnittke, and Dmitri Shostakovich unfolds as a complete journey through time. From the architectural rigor of the baroque — to personal, almost confessional romanticism, and further — to the philosophical and dramatic intonation of the 20th century, in which past and present exist simultaneously.
Here, the works do not simply follow one another — they enter into dialogue, reflect, argue, complement, and reinterpret each other.
Take a look at recordings of the musicians from other concerts. These pieces are not part of the “Dialogues Through the Centuries” program, but they will help you better appreciate the artists’ style and sound.
