The ensemble "BASIANI" - perfect, beautiful, impressive! - was founded in 2000 with the blessing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, and the support of the Georgian Patriarchate by soloists from the choir of the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi. In 2013, the group was named the State Ensemble of Georgian Folk Singing.

The choir's soloists are young singers from traditional singing dynasties, all of whom began their creative journey in children's folklore ensembles in Georgia.
The name "BASIANI" comes from one of the historical regions of southwestern Georgia, which is currently part of Turkey. It was here in 1203 that the famous battle took place, where the valiant Georgian royal army defeated the enemy. This victory further strengthened Georgia's position in the Middle East at that time.

For Georgia, the Battle of Basiani is associated with love for the homeland, self-sacrifice, unity, and victories achieved through such unity. The choir's soloists serve their beloved cause with the same dedication: young singers from traditional singing dynasties began their creative path in children's folklore groups in Georgia, and by 2013, "BASIANI" was granted the status of the State Ensemble of Georgia.

Since its foundation, the "BASIANI" ensemble has been involved in popularizing Georgian traditional polyphony. Over twenty years, it has restored and revived many forgotten gems of folklore, recorded and published up to 300 samples of singing, which have spread all over the world! Today, "BASIANI" is in an active phase of its activity. "Basiani" tours the world with unchanging success, thanks to the distinctive singing features unique to the Georgian people and a unique repertoire of ancient spiritual chants from Old Georgian, Byzantine, and Syrian traditions.

The "New York Times" described their performance as "exquisite, stellar, and beautiful." The geography of "BASIANI's" tours is vast, and their fame has spread far beyond their native Georgia. They have received applause from audiences in England, the USA, the Netherlands, Ireland, Poland, Lithuania, and many other countries.
Tickets
Those who have attended our concerts before have noticed that ticket prices are not fixed; they constantly change. However, the general principle is simple: the earlier you buy a ticket, the cheaper it will be for you.

Ticket prices increase approximately every two or three days. It's similar to how airline tickets work: the closer to the event, the more expensive the tickets.
